Given the current economic climate there is a great deal of discussion surrounding expense reductions. With a little discipline and cooperation, the following suggestions can be easily implemented:
Reduce the amount of paper generated in your office. Unless original signatures are required, Scan documents.
Discourage the use of colored paper because white paper is easier to recycle.
Print on recycled paper.
Reversing and reusing file folders.
Scrub mailing lists to avoid costly duplications.
Change the settings on networked printers to two-sided copying.
Use nondisposable tableware (mugs, silverware, plates)
Refill or recycle laser cartridges.
Buy mechanical pencils and refillable pens
Use undated, erasable wall calendars for appointments and meetings
Reuse envelopes with metal claps
Ship material in reusable/reused packaging
Share newspapers and magazines
Turn off lights in offices and conference rooms when not in use.
